Calculation Formulas

Width Calculation

Formula: Total Width = Incoming Width + Busbar Width + Max(Outgoing Widths) + Cable Alley Width

Where:

  • Incoming Width: From switchgear table based on rating
  • Busbar Width: 300-400mm depending on current
  • Outgoing Width: Largest outgoing switchgear width
  • Cable Alley: 300mm (front) or 0mm (back)

Height Calculation

Formula: Total Height = Base(75mm) + Σ(Switchgear Heights) ≤ 2200mm

Constraints:

  • Maximum height: 2200mm for operation safety
  • Base frame: 75mm minimum
  • Multiple columns if height exceeds limit

Depth Calculation

Formula: Total Depth = Max(Incoming Depth, Outgoing Depth) + Cable Termination Offset

Where:

  • Outdoor panels: Add 100mm for double door
  • Back cable termination: Add 300mm
  • Take maximum depth from all switchgear

Example Calculation

Given: Incoming: 1250A ACB, Outgoing: 2×630A MCCB, 3×400A MCCB

Calculations:

  • Width: 800 + 300 + 600 + 300 = 2000mm
  • Height: 75 + (5 × 400) = 2075mm
  • Depth: 800mm (from incoming ACB)
